About CCR

Who we are

The Canadian Consortium for Research (CCR) brings together organizations representing researchers and scientists across disciplines. We advocate for a flourishing research community in Canada, supported by:

  • strong public investment in fundamental research
  • meaningful support for research talent
  • a thriving public post-secondary education sector

CCR is a national, volunteer-led coalition of more than 20 organizations. Our members represent more than 50,000 researchers and 500,000 students working and learning in universities, colleges, government laboratories and private-sector research settings across Canada.

What we do

Advocacy and policy

We bring researchers’ perspectives to Parliament, federal departments and national conversations about science, research and post-secondary education. CCR develops recommendations and public commentary on the policies that shape Canada’s research ecosystem.

Convening the research community

CCR connects member organizations across disciplines and sectors to identify shared priorities and amplify common concerns. This collaboration strengthens the voice of researchers in Canada.

Engagement and public awareness

We share the value of fundamental research and the people who make it possible. Through events, publications and engagement with decisionmakers, CCR helps build support for a research system that serves Canada well.
